3 Tips For RVing With Your Pet

One of the best things about RVing is the fact that you can bring along your pets. Dogs, cats, and even birds have all been known to travel along with their humans for adventures on the road. But what can you do to make sure your animal friends are kept safe and healthy while you’re traveling and that your time on the road isn’t stressful.

Bringing your puppies along on your RV trip is a great way to introduce them to other people, make memories as a family, and not have to worry about finding a dog sitter.

1. Make Sure They Always Have Water

Water is important for everyone, but while traveling it’s incredibly important that your pets have enough water because they tend to get a little more nervous and drink more. Never knowing what’s ahead, it’s also important that you keep fresh water on hand, because there’s always a chance that you’ll find yourself at a park without potable water.

2. Get Them Microchipped

Even cats can get spooked at the RV park. Get them microchipped to give them the chance to be returned safely.

Animals can easily be spooked and run off. On a daily basis you’ll see on camping Facebook groups that a pet has been lost. By getting your pet microchipped you’re giving it the best chance of being returned safely home. This goes for both cats and dogs, because if your cat gets out of your RV it’s highly likely they will spook and head off on an adventure,

3. Bring Extra Food

Most pets get used to their food. Because you’ll be in areas that you aren’t familiar with, it’s important that you bring along enough food to keep your pet covered for your entire trip, plus a few extra days. You don’t want to end up having to buy a brand that your pet isn’t used to and have to deal with their upset stomach.
